One of the most interesting things you can do with a picture is to give it a 3D look. It can be done with advanced image processors, but it is not easy. Using PhotoSculpt, you will get better results, it will take less time and the interface makes this task very simple. Just load two images and the program will do all the calculations and editing by itself.

The installation kit is a bit large (20 Mb) and it may take some time to download if you are using a slower Internet connection. The setup process will compensate for the lost time. The setup wizard is straightforward and it will take less than a minute to finish installing the software.

PhotoSculpt will create 3D sculptures, using two pictures of the same object, taken from different angles. These must be loaded in two separate boxes on the software's interface, after which you can click a button, beneath the boxes and the main process will start. You will see, in real time, how the program processes an image and distorts it.

When the process is complete, you will see a "bent" image. The central object will look like it is coming out of the picture and you can rotate it by clicking and dragging it. You will also notice high quality textures, which will make the object look more realistic. Additional options will be made available in the lower right area of the interface. You can use these to increase or decrease the model's depth, crop it and display it in different modes, including wire frame, white shading, textured and others. The sculpture can be saved in the software's own format or others, including .obj, .ply and .stl.

It is also possible to view the image's displacement map, occlusion map and many others, by clicking the various navigation tabs on the upper edge of the main window. Most of these maps will display an interesting view of the image on their own, so it is possible to save them separately in popular formats like .jpg, .bmp, .png or .tiff.

Pros

PhotoSculpt makes it possible to create high resolution sculptures with only two images. You may think that it is a very complex and difficult process, but it is not. You just have to load two pictures and let the software do the rest.

Cons

The software will not work so well with shiny objects or flat surfaces. High quality 3D objects can be created with very little effort from your part. You only need two pictures and PhotoSculpt will do the rest.
